POLARIS Ottawa Hub Issues

We are considering Geomagnetic Laboratory at Anderson Road as a temporary location for POLARIS Ottawa Hub installation.

1. Data Throughput Issue

As benchmark results indicate, a data throughput of at least 1.1 megabits per second can be achieved.

2. Maximum capacity required

As the TDMA optimization tests indicate, the average bandwidth required (considering a mix of current 100 sps and 40 sps stations) is about 5000 bits/second. If a maximum of about 60 stations were to be served from this Hub, the required bandwidth is about 293 kilo bits per second, or approximately 1/4 of the data throughput available.
